Winter season: 8 kinds of food cannot be missed against influenza

For prevention of influenza, we must first develop good personal hygiene, especially washing hands frequently, not to touch your eyes, nose and mouth with dirty hands. Meanwhile, in a time when sneezing and coughing you should cover your mouth and nose with tissue paper. And, we must ensure adequate sleep and nutrition, hard physical exercise, consciously reduce the pressure of work and study to maintain carefree mood. In addition, the intake of adequate nutrition, cleaning of the body environment, and strengthening the body immune system are our homework. Here we introduce 8 kind of ingredients helping you combating influenza.

1. Yogurt

Probiotics protect the gut. Yogurt contains probiotics to protect intestinal tract to prevent disease-causing bacteria production. In addition, some yogurt contains lactic acid bacteria which can promote the growth of white blood cells in the blood.

2. Sweet potato

Sweet potato increases skin resistance. Skin is the body’s immune system, a member of the body against bacteria, viruses, etc. The first barrier against the outside world. Vitamin A in the connective skin tissue plays an important role in the process. the best way to obtain vitamin A is through β-carotene from food, sweet potato is the quickest way to obtain this nutrient, which is rich in β-carotene and low in calories.

3. Tea

Tea is anti-bacterial and anti-influenza. Immunologist found that people who drink five cups of black tea a day for two weeks will produce a large number of anti-viral interferon, its content is 10 times more than people who don’t drink tea. This protein could be effective against infections help the body against flu. At the same time, it can reduce food poisoning, wound infections, athlete’s foot and even the symptoms of tuberculosis and malaria. Of course, drinking green tea also has the same effect.

4. Beef

Zinc enhance immunity. Zinc in the diet is very important, it can promote the growth of white blood cells and thus help the body against viruses, bacteria and other harmful substances. Even mild zinc deficiency can increase the risk of infectious disease risk. Beef is an important source of human zinc supplementation.

5. Mushroom

Mushroom promotes anti-inflammatory white blood cells. For a long time, people take mushroom as food for enhancing immunity. Nowadays, researchers have also found that eating mushroom can promote the production of white blood cells and enable them to be more preventive.

6. Fish and shellfish

selenium can be used against virus. British experts research indicates that adequate supplementation with selenium can increase the number of immune proteins and thus help clearing the influenza virusesthe from body. Se comes mainly from oysters, lobsters, crabs and clams and other seafood. Fish such as the Omega -3 in Atlantic salmon can help the blood cells producing large amounts of anti-influenza, but also help to enhance human immunity.

7. Garlic

Allicin can be used against inflammatory and bacteria. British researchers’ experimental results show that consumption of garlic may reduce the chance of catching cold to 33%. Regular chewing garlic will greatly reduce suffering from colon cancer and stomach cancer risk. It is therefore recommended two raw garlic every day, and when cooking adding some large minced garlic in your dishes.

8. Oats and barley

Healthy fiber is antioxidant. Oats and barley contain β-glucan, which has anti-bacterial and anti-oxidation of cellulose role. Consumption of oats and barley, can enhance immunity, accelerate wound healing, but also help the antibiotics to play better results.

1. Brush your teeth and clean your face

Brush your teeth before bed-time is more important than in the morning. It can not only remove mouth sediments but also help to protect your teeth. Clean dusts from your face, protect the skin and make your sleep comfortable.

2. Comb your hair

by combing your hair, you massage and stimulate the nerves and blood tube in your head. It can improve memory, promote the hair root nutrition, protect the hair, reduce hair loss and eliminate the brain fatigue.

3. Drink a glass of milk with honey

Milk contains l-tryptophan which helps your sleep. Drink a glass of milk with honey 1 hour before sleep. Honey helps to maintain blood sugar balance throughout the night, and helps to avoiding early awakening.

4.Ventilation

To keep the air in the bedroom fresh, you need to keep the window open before before going to bed. Shut it off when you are ready to sleep.

5. Wash (rub) your feet

Chinese medicine believes that more than 60 points on the feet have very close ties with internal organs. Do your feet in warm water (40-50 ℃), massage feet and toes. Those may help promote blood circulation and help you a sound sleep.

I have this aloe vera in the living room already for a year. It is really an easy and quick growing plant. It doesn’t need too much water, but just grow really quickly. I like aloe vera, it can be widely used.

Aloe vera for your beauty care

Aloe is the best after-sun skin repair gel

Aloe is super easy to use as after-sun repair mask. Particularly the sun is so strong here in the summer, without notice you would be easily get sun-burned. I used to use fruit which contains vitamin C to apply as after-sun skin repair gel. But since I discovered the benefits of aloe vera, I switched to it.

Because most of the fruit contains acid, my skin belongs to sensitive skin, acid is not good for it. In the evening after washing the face, first I spray water on the face to add moisture, then cut a small piece of aloe vera and squeeze the sticky juice out and apply on the face and neck. That’s it. You will feel a little tight when it drys, but it does not matter. I go directly to sleep afterwards. The next morning the skin is very smooth. Actually it is much better than those replenishing gel products.

Aloe vera (also known as Aloe barbadensis), contains Aloin, can be a skin sunscreen. The other ingredients it contains, such as a variety of sugars, amino acids, active enzymes, aloe-emodin etc have a good skin moisture effect, and can accelerate skin metabolism, increase skin elasticity to make it soft, smooth and plump. It can also eliminate acne and freckles, cure chapped skin. The juice of aloe, containing a variety of vitamins, amino acids and small molecule nutrients, can be absorbed directly by skin cells, and nourish the skin.

You get result from just few days by using aloe vera on your skin. It is easy to get and easy to use.

Aloe is the best Oxygenating Machine

One amazing factor about aloe is, in general plants are not suitable for setting in the bedroom, because plants at night release carbon dioxide. But aloe is one of a small amount of plants which releases 24 hours a day oxygen. Oxygen and a small amount of evaporation of water keeps room fresh.

Aloe is a major killer for skin disease

Aloe vera can cure a lot of skin inflammation. Aloe’s anti-bacterial function comes from Aloin, which has relatively aggressive biochemical nature. It makes aloe vera directly kill the bacteria. For burns, physical injury, corrosive chemicals or UV damage, heat radiation-induced inflammation, aloe gel has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. Experiments show that using aloe vera gel has same efficacy as synthetic anti-inflammatory drugs from modern science, while the aloe gel does not contain ingredients harmful to human beings, has no side effects.

Aloe can also participate the healing process for wounds and ulcers.

So, hurry up! Get aloe vera in your house! Cheap, easy but can be one of your best friends. It simply just help you so much.

Some people eat in the morning, some in the evening. And some people choose whenever they want. What is the healthy way to eat yogurt?

Anja says, the best time to eat yogurt is in the evening.

From the perspective of calcium absorb, as in our evening meal contains no calcium, but the calcium metabolism is still carried out quietly in our sleep, so it is necessary to take in calcium-rich dairy food before you go to bed.

Then, milk and yogurt, which is more healthy?

For most people, milk is a non-digestible drink. Drinking milk in the morning is better, because your whole activities helps its digestion. When people sleep in the night, the amount of exercise reduce significantly. It is not good for body digestion and absorption. Especially for gastrointestinal poor people, it may also resulting indigestion symptoms.

Yogurt is different, it contains lactic acid which helps the body’s gastrointestinal peristalsis during the night. It can also help to prevent constipation.

Anja suggests, preferably you eat yogurt about two hours after dinner, and avoid eating yogurt when you have an empty stomach. Because then the lactic acid bacteria in yogurt can be easily killed by gastric acid, the function of yogurt would be weakened.

Hunger! Hunger! Our stomach is crying for food. It makes our diet plan often difficult to achieve ultimate success.

Never get yourself too hungry!

Our bodies are very loyal to his own instincts: when he is hungry, he sends a signal to ask to be satisfied. When he doesn’t get it, he sends a stronger signal for a big meal. At that time if you don’t eat, the body creates the memories that he needs some energy to be stored.

When you can not help but to eat, the “I am full” signal is not conveyed to the brain so quickly and issues a “stop eating” command. By the time you feel you are full — you have eaten too much. Meanwhile your body is trying hard converting nutrients into energy, so it will not encountervenergy shortage – which is said earlier, when you are too hungry, the body switches automatically into automatic protection mode. So unfortunately, your weight will be increased.

Even more unfortunately, when you are hungry, the original blood glucose in the body has been almost depleted. Apart from decomposing fats, the body decomposes also muscle in order to maintain a certain degree of blood glucose levels and provide energy. This will slow down your metabolism and affect weight loss results. So a big meal after a big hunger is going to lead to a tragedy: your fat may be increased, while the muscle is gradually reduced.

Therefore, we can no longer ignore when we go to eat, as well as the interval between each meal.

Our suggestions are:

- To maintain a balanced three meals a day

- Get your every meal good arranged

- Do not get your body too hungry

What shall we do?

1. Breakfast

Breakfast is extremely important, because it provides energy to restore our metabolism – After a whole night of consumption, the body’s blood sugar level is very low, so is metabolism. Eating breakfast is to raise blood sugar levels, restore strong metabolism, and restore energy.

Here, the blood sugar is a very important factor, which provide not only energy for the body quickly, so that our body, especially the brain is kept in an active state (consuming more energy), but also reduce our feeling of hunger – sugar in the blood enable us no longer feel hungry.

So what shall we have for breakfast?

The best choice is to contain carbohydrates (which convert into sugar in the body). They are grains, fruits and vegetables, beans, meat, and nuts. A glass of water with honey is also a good idea.

The blood sugar is the direct energy provider. but after 1-2 hours blood sugar level will drop, the body will feel tired and easily lead to burnout. Therefore if your breakfast contains protein, it can maintain your blood glucose levels for the whole morning. Meat (including eggs), nuts, milk and milk products, can all provide rich proteins.

In addition, as the first meal in a day, fiber-rich foods can promote gastrointestinal motility and provide a sense of saturation. Therefore, the wealth of cellulose is also essential, vegetables, fruits and legumes, can provide enough fiber.

So you can see, here is a good diet breakfast:

- 3 pieces of sugar-free whole-wheat bread

- 1 glass of low-fat milk

- 1 small apple

2. Lunch

In the mid of the day and afternoon is the time that body energy consumption reaches the most. Therefore your lunch should be the meal getting the most energy. In addition, sufficient lunch is a good way to prevent hunger and avoid eating too much in the dinner.

For your lunch it is required that you get diversification of food items to complement a variety of nutrients. Fresh vegetables, lean meat are good choices. It is best to eat meat with less fat, such as lean meat, skinless chicken, fish and shrimp meat. Of course, the above shall also include grain and oil (preferably olive oil, canola oil and other vegetable oil).

Note that do not use deep-fried, fried or grilled cooking methods, but best to use consommé, steamed, boiled, cold-mixed and other cooking methods. In addition, cook the food not too long in order to reduce the loss of nutrients.

3. Dinner

We consume less energy at night, especially in sleep, so we eat also low calories dinner.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are good choices. Our recommendations:

- Choose fresh fruits and vegetables, but try not to eat vegetables and fruit contains a lot of sugar, such as melons, sweet potatoes, etc.;

- Choose fresh fish and shrimp, skinless chicken (or other poultry) to complement proteins (digestion of protein is slow, and you are not hungry easily);

- To avoid excessive consumption of simple carbohydrates, such as foods and drinks which contains sugar. (The blood sugar will be converted to fat to store in the body);

- Try to avoid fats, such as foods with added fat, baked foods, high fat- contented meat, high fat- contented vegetables, nuts, etc.;

- Do not eat too much, stop when you feel 80% full;

- Within 4 hours before going to bed try not to eat anything;

- A cup of hot milk (low fat or no fat) can help to sleep.

4 extra meal or snacks

As we mentioned earlier, do not keep the body for a long period of starvation. Therefore, extra small meals is also good approach. It keeps the body less hungry, maintain a vigorous metabolism, while energy is more abundant.

10 am, when the body has been working for some time, it is time that you add some some low-fat carbohydrates, such as fruit or nuts. You can also drink a cup of sugar-free drinks.

Between 14~15pm in the afternoon is also a good time for an extra small meal, when the blood sugar drops to the lowest point. after lunch, Nuts and fruits are always good choices.

Calories (calorie) is now widely used in nutrition and fitness measurement. The metric equivalent of the calorie is the joule.

How to convert: 1 calorie = 4.18400 joules

Difference between calories and kilocalories

What we always see from the food packaging is actually “kilocalories”, which is often written as Calories – with the capital C. Or, with metric measurements, then “kilojoules” (kJ) is used.

Where does Calories come from?

The energy we need comes from three substances: carbohydrates, fats and protein. Vitamins and minerals do not have the energy.

How is calories consumed?

The energy intake from food is consumed

60% ~ 70% by basic metabolism, such as breathing, blood circulation and cell renewing;

10% by digestion;

20% ~ 30% by sports.

How many calories do we need daily?

According to World Health Organization, the recommended daily calorie intake is 1,800~1,900 calories per day for women, of which protein intake should be 10%~15%; carbohydrate 55%; fat 30%. In addition, the daily intake of salt should not be more than 6 grams.

What is negative-calorie food?

Those food who can help us to burn out fat is negative-calorie food. For example: an apple contains 50 calories energy, but you need 75 calories to eat, digest and absorb it, which means your body will consume an additional 25 calories.

Good news, isn’t it? By that, your weight loss rate will speed up to two to three times.

What are those secret negative-calorie foods?

They are vegetables, fruits and nuts.

For example:

Vegetables: eggplant, beet root, broccoli, bean sprouts, radish, cauliflower, celery, cabbage, mungbeans, leeks, lettuce, mushrooms and onions, etc.

Fruits: apples, almonds, bananas, cherries, cranberries, grapefruit, grapes, guava, kiwi, litchi, mango, papaya, strawberries and orange, etc.

Nuts: Brazil nut, chestnut, coconut, macadamias, peanuts, pine, walnut, etc.

Tips:

1, Only those food which is raw or doesn’t need to cook for long, and fresh fruits and nuts, have a negative-calorie effect.

2, Dried, preserved barbecued, as well as canned food, doesn’t have negative- calorie effect.

3, In modern lifestyles fewer calories are needed in order to maintain a healthy weight. However, keep it above 1,100 calories always.

4, Calories shall not be the only factor to consider for a successful diet. We will discuss more in our later blogs.
